IT Systems Engineer Overview
We are seeking an experienced IT Systems Engineer to join a dynamic IT Solutions Company based in Tallahassee, FL. Responsibilities
- Oversee and execute basic project management tasks, including providing updates to customers and management as well as developing remediation plans for IT projects.
- Configure and deploy servers with advanced skill, going beyond routine account management to handle more sophisticated server setup and maintenance.
- Design, configure, and deploy network and security solutions, building and expanding networks independently with minimal supervision.
- Optimize and maintain network software and hardware to ensure reliable performance and security across all endpoints.
- Implement and manage Mobile Device Management (MDM) software, executing companywide rollouts to 50 or more devices as needed.
- Lead small-scale IT projects autonomously, including server builds, network rollouts, and MDM implementations.
- Build and deploy file servers and cloud computing solutions tailored to client requirements.
- Configure and deploy Voice over IP (VOIP) solutions to enhance organizational communication capabilities.
- Manage Microsoft Exchange Server environments for seamless business communication and data management.
- Facilitate new user onboarding, ensuring smooth access to necessary systems and resources.
Qualifications
- Minimum of four years of hands-on experience in configuring, troubleshooting, and repairing networking equipment, Windows servers, workstations, Exchange Server, and Active Directory environments.
- At least three years of experience in client-facing roles, such as sales engineering, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage with clients at a business level to understand and address their technology needs.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities, with a strong attention to detail and the capacity to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Proven experience writing technical proposals and implementing solutions to fulfill specific business requirements.
- Self-motivated, results-oriented, and reliable team player with a professional demeanor and energetic approach to problem-solving.
- Strong understanding of technology platforms and business productivity systems.
- Familiarity with Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) tools is a plus.
- Demonstrated high-level problem-solving skills, outstanding customer service, and the ability to multitask efficiently.
- Sales training experience is considered an asset.
- Prior experience working within a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment is highly desirable.
Preferred Certifications
- CompTIA Network+ and/or CompTIA Security+ certifications.
- Microsoft certifications such as MCSA (Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator), MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer or Solutions Expert), or MCITP (Microsoft Certified IT Professional).
- Cisco certifications such as CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) or CCIE (Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert) are advantageous.
