IT Support Specialist III Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and technically skilled IT Support Specialist III to join a leading IT solutions company, offering full-time employment in Tucson, AZ. The IT Support Specialist III will serve as a primary point of contact for escalated support requests, ensuring prompt, professional, and effective resolution of technical issues. The position requires a deep understanding of system administration, network management, and client service within a managed service provider (MSP) environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide courteous and timely support for incoming service desk requests via telephone, web portal, or email, ensuring effective resolution of end-user technical issues.
- Coordinate the provisioning and system setup for new hires, ensuring all required access and resources are properly configured.
- Prioritize and manage incidents and service requests in accordance with defined service level agreements (SLAs), maintaining high service standards.
- Utilize remote tools and diagnostic utilities to troubleshoot and resolve support requests efficiently.
- Perform server administration tasks, including managing Active Directory, File & Print services, DNS, and DHCP.
- Install and maintain antivirus software, ensuring virus definitions remain current to protect organizational assets.
- Administer and maintain network firewalls and switches, optimizing and supporting both network software and hardware.
- Build and deploy file servers and cloud computing solutions to enhance business productivity and data management.
- Configure and deploy Voice over IP (VOIP) solutions and support telephone system administration.
- Manage Microsoft Exchange Server as part of comprehensive email and collaboration services.
- Monitor alert systems, responding appropriately to maintain system integrity according to established guidelines.
- Analyze event logs to identify and repair technical issues quickly and effectively.
- Handle escalated service requests, delivering advanced technical support and guidance as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Previous experience working in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment is required.
- Minimum of four years' hands-on experience with configuration, troubleshooting, and repair of networking equipment, Windows servers and workstations, Exchange Server, and Active Directory.
- Two to three years of client-facing experience in roles such as sales engineering, demonstrating strong communication skills.
- Familiarity with tools such as Kaseya RMM and Autotask PSA is considered an asset.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage professionally with clients on technical and business matters.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities to successfully handle multiple tasks and priorities.
- Experience in drafting proposals and implementing technical solutions tailored to business requirements.
- Demonstrated results-oriented, self-motivated, and collaborative approach to work.
- Thorough understanding of business productivity systems and technology solutions.
- Experience with remote monitoring and management (RMM) tools is advantageous.
- Proven high-level problem-solving skills and extraordinary commitment to customer service.
- Sales training experience is beneficial but not required.
Preferred Certifications
- CompTIA Network+ and/or CompTIA Security+ certifications.
- MCSA (Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator/Solutions Associate), MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert), or MCITP (Microsoft Certified IT Professional) certifications.
- CCNA or CCIE (Cisco Certified Network Associate/Expert) certifications are highly regarded.
