IT Support Specialist II Position Overview

Key Responsibilities
- Deploy and manage Windows Servers and Active Directory, ensuring secure and efficient access to network resources.
- Design and implement Local Area Networks (LANs) to support business operations.
- Maintain and monitor network security, using best practices to safeguard data and systems.
- Optimize and maintain network software and hardware to maximize performance and reliability.
- Build, deploy, and manage file servers and cloud computing solutions tailored to business needs.
- Configure and deploy VOIP solutions to enhance communication capabilities.
- Troubleshoot network infrastructure issues, diagnosing and resolving problems promptly.
- Administer Microsoft Exchange Server to support company-wide email and collaboration.
- Oversee telephone solutions and integrate them with IT systems.
- Monitor alert systems and respond according to established guidelines to maintain uptime and performance.
- Interpret event logs and apply corrective actions to resolve system issues.
- Handle escalated service requests that require advanced technical expertise.
- Facilitate new user onboarding, configuring systems and permissions for smooth integration into the company environment.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum of four (4) years of experience in IT help desk, IT desktop support, IT support analyst, IT service management, IT service desk, or similar roles.
- Preferred certifications include CompTIA Net+, CompTIA Security+, MCSA (Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator or Solutions Associate), MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer), or MCITP (Microsoft Certified IT Professional).
- Proven ability to provide comprehensive desktop and end-user support for both hardware and software.
- Strong proficiency in desktop applications such as Microsoft Office Suite (2010/2013/2016), Adobe products, and Intuit products.
- Expert troubleshooting skills across multiple operating systems, including Windows 7, Windows 8.1, Windows 10, and Mac OSX.
- Solid understanding of Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Print Services, File Services, GPOs, and other common Windows Server roles.
- Familiarity with SaaS solutions such as Office 365 and Adobe Creative Cloud.
- Experience with network and firewall administration using devices such as Cisco, Sophos, and SonicWall.
- Knowledge of server virtualization technologies, including VMware ESXi and vCenter.
- Working knowledge of system and application logs as well as performance monitoring tools.
- Excellent customer service skills, maintaining a courteous, tactful, and professional demeanor at all times.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly to individuals and groups.
- Demonstrated reliability and a strong work ethic.
- Experience working in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment is highly desirable.
