IT Support Engineer III (MSP) Job OverviewWe are seeking an experienced IT Support Engineer III (MSP) for a full-time position in Plainsboro Township, NJ. As an IT Support Engineer III (MSP), you will collaborate closely with both technical and business teams to deliver technology solutions tailored to client needs.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with sales teams to provide pre- and post-sales technical support, including discovery meetings, site visits, proposal development, presentations, technical assessments, solution implementation, and ongoing account management.
- Deploy, configure, and manage Windows Servers and Active Directory environments to meet client requirements.
- Design and implement Local Area Networks (LANs), ensuring optimal performance and scalability for business operations.
- Implement, monitor, and maintain network security protocols to protect client data and systems.
- Optimize and maintain network hardware and software, ensuring high availability and reliability.
- Build and deploy file servers and cloud computing solutions to support modern business workflows.
- Configure and deploy Voice over IP (VOIP) solutions, integrating telephony with business networks.
- Troubleshoot complex network infrastructure issues, providing swift resolution for escalated service requests.
- Manage Microsoft Exchange Server environments, ensuring robust email and collaboration services.
- Support telephone system solutions and provide technical guidance for communication infrastructure.
- Monitor automated alert systems and respond according to established guidelines to maintain system stability.
- Analyze event logs and utilize diagnostic messages to identify and resolve technical issues.
- Perform new user onboarding, including system setup and access provisioning.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with configuring, troubleshooting, and repairing networking equipment, Windows servers/workstations, Exchange Server, and Active Directory.
- Demonstrated experience working in an MSP (Managed Service Provider) environment is required.
- At least 3 years of client-facing experience in environments such as sales engineering, with strong communication skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to engage business clients and understand their technology needs.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Experience drafting proposals and implementing technical solutions to address business challenges.
- Self-motivated, results-oriented, reliable, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Solid understanding of technology and business productivity systems.
- Experience with remote monitoring and management (RMM) tools such as Kaseya or ConnectWise is a plus.
- Familiarity with professional services automation (PSA) ticketing systems such as Autotask or ConnectWise is beneficial.
- Proven problem-solving skills, outstanding customer service, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Sales training or experience is advantageous.
- CompTIA Network+ and/or CompTIA Security+ certification
- MCSA (Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator), MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer or Solutions Expert), or MCITP (Microsoft Certified IT Professional)
- CCNA or CCIE Cisco certifications
