IT Help Desk Technician (Level 1) Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated IT Help Desk Technician (Level 1) to join an established IT Solutions Company. This full-time opportunity offers a dynamic role supporting end-users and business clients in the Renton, WA area. As an IT Help Desk Technician (Level 1), you will serve as the first point of contact for customers experiencing technical issues, helping to resolve a variety of IT support requests efficiently and professionally. This position is ideal for professionals with a strong background in business desktop and server technologies, including experience with Windows operating systems, networking, and vendor-specific hardware and software.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the initial point of contact for customers seeking technical assistance via phone or support tickets, providing prompt and courteous service as an IT Help Desk Technician (Level 1) in Renton, WA.
- Triage and troubleshoot issues related to Windows 10 workstations, as well as Windows 2016 and 2019 servers.
- Perform password resets, new user onboarding, and assist with PC setup, including software installation and domain configuration.
- Set up and configure IP phones and install IT equipment, ensuring all devices are correctly integrated into the company network.
- Install and configure printers from major brands such as Canon and HP, ensuring reliable access for all users.
- Follow support tickets through to resolution, escalating issues to more experienced technicians as necessary and updating end-users on progress.
- Work collaboratively with the onsite technical lead on various IT-related projects for clients in Renton, WA, supporting both immediate and long-term technical needs.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar IT support role, such as IT Help Desk, IT Desktop Support, IT Support Analyst, or IT Service Desk.
- Familiarity with remote monitoring and management (RMM) tools, such as Ninja, Kaseya, Datto, Continuum, or Connectwise.
- Experience using ticketing software like Autotask, Connectwise, or similar systems to track and manage support requests efficiently.
- General understanding of software and printer installation in a business environment.
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Security+, or Network+ are preferred, but not required.
- Strong customer service skills, demonstrating a professional, courteous, and tactful demeanor in all interactions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information to users of varying technical backgrounds.
- Reliable work ethic and a commitment to follow through on assigned tasks until resolution as an IT Help Desk Technician (Level 1).
