IT Help Desk Technician II (MSP) Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced IT Help Desk Technician II (MSP) for a full-time position in Round Rock, TX. As an IT Help Desk Technician II (MSP), you will play a vital role in supporting our clients’ technology infrastructure, ensuring their business operations run smoothly and securely.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with sales teams to provide pre- and post-sales technical support, including participating in discovery meetings, site visits, technical assessments, proposal drafting, presentations, and technical account management for clients in Round Rock, TX.
- Deploy and manage Windows Servers and Active Directory environments, ensuring optimal performance and security for client networks.
- Design and implement Local Area Networks, including configuration and deployment of network hardware and software solutions to meet business requirements.
- Implement, monitor, and optimize network security measures to safeguard client data and systems.
- Maintain, upgrade, and troubleshoot network hardware and software in a managed services provider (MSP) environment.
- Build and deploy file servers as well as cloud computing solutions, supporting clients’ transition to cloud-based systems.
- Configure and deploy VOIP solutions, ensuring seamless communication capabilities for end-users.
- Troubleshoot network infrastructure issues, working efficiently to resolve escalated service requests that require advanced technical intervention.
- Administer Microsoft Exchange Server, delivering reliable email and collaboration services for clients.
- Support telephone solutions and monitor alert systems, taking prompt action in accordance with established guidelines.
- Utilize event logs and diagnostic messages to identify and repair system issues.
- Facilitate new user onboarding, ensuring all systems, permissions, and resources are set up accurately and efficiently.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of four years of hands-on experience configuring, troubleshooting, and repairing networking equipment, Windows servers and workstations, Exchange server, and Active Directory in a professional environment.
- At least three years of experience in a client-facing technical support or sales engineering role.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to engage professionally with clients and understand their business and technology needs.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities, able to manage multiple tasks and priorities efficiently.
- Demonstrated experience in writing technical proposals and implementing technology solutions to address business challenges.
- Solid understanding of business productivity systems, with a focus on leveraging technology for operational improvements.
- Experience with remote monitoring and management (RMM) tools such as Kaseya, Connectwise, or Ninja is highly desirable.
- Experience using professional services automation (PSA) or ticketing systems such as Autotask or Connectwise is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills, customer service orientation, and an ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Prior experience working in a Managed Services Provider (MSP) environment is highly preferred.
Preferred Certifications (Not Required)
- CompTIA Network+ (Net+) and/or CompTIA Security+ certification.
- Microsoft certifications such as MCSA (Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator), MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer), or MCITP (Microsoft Certified IT Professional).
- Cisco certifications such as CCNA or CCIE.
