IT Help Desk Analyst Position OverviewThe IT Help Desk Analyst is a key member of the technical support team, responsible for delivering efficient and professional support services to employees within the organization. This full-time position focuses on resolving technical incidents and service requests, supporting end users both in person at the walk-up service desk and remotely using advanced remote desktop tools. The IT Help Desk Analyst plays a critical role in maintaining the integrity and security of the organization's computing environment, ensuring optimal functionality of hardware, software, and related technology resources.
Responsibilities- Provide frontline IT support to employees by addressing technical issues and service requests at the walk-up help desk and through remote desktop solutions.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot a variety of computer hardware, including laptops, desktops, peripherals, printers, and mobile devices, to ensure user productivity and system performance.
- Assist users with software installation, configuration, and troubleshooting for both Windows and Mac operating systems, leveraging tools such as Intune for Endpoint Management.
- Maintain password security, data integrity, and file system security in accordance with organizational policies and best practices.
- Build and re-image laptops as needed, ensuring all devices meet configuration and security standards before deployment to end users.
- Provide user support over the phone, including troubleshooting issues for Mac users and other end users, ensuring clear and effective communication at all times.
- Support the management and troubleshooting of user accounts and authentication using Active Directory and facilitate collaboration through Microsoft Teams.
- Document incidents and resolutions in the service management system, contributing to knowledge base articles and process improvements.
- Work collaboratively with other IT professionals to resolve complex technical problems and contribute to a positive, team-oriented work culture.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in an IT Service Desk or technical support role, providing support to end users.
- Hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting both Windows and Mac laptops in a business environment.
- Proficiency with Intune for Endpoint Management, including device setup and policy implementation.
- Strong knowledge of remote support tools and techniques to deliver efficient user assistance.
- Experience building and re-imaging laptops to prepare devices for new users or resolve system issues.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot technical issues for Mac users and provide effective support over the phone.
- Basic understanding of Active Directory for user and group management, as well as familiarity with Microsoft Teams for communication and collaboration.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, essential for interacting with employees at all levels of the organization.
