IT Engineer Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced IT Engineer to join a leading IT Solutions Company in Charleston, SC on a full-time basis. As an IT Engineer, you will play a vital role in designing, deploying, and maintaining advanced technology solutions for a diverse portfolio of clients. Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with sales teams to provide comprehensive pre- and post-sales support, including participating in discovery meetings, site visits, proposal development, presentations, technical assessments, solution implementation, and ongoing technical account management.
- Deploy, configure, and manage Windows Servers and Active Directory environments, ensuring secure and efficient operations.
- Design and implement Local Area Networks (LANs) tailored to client needs, focusing on performance, scalability, and security.
- Implement, monitor, and maintain network security protocols and practices to safeguard client data and infrastructure.
- Optimize and maintain network software and hardware, troubleshooting issues and performing regular maintenance to ensure system reliability.
- Build and deploy file servers and cloud computing solutions, enabling clients to maximize productivity and business continuity.
- Configure and deploy Voice over IP (VOIP) solutions and telephone systems, enhancing client communications capabilities.
- Troubleshoot network infrastructure, identifying and resolving issues to minimize downtime and maintain high levels of service.
- Manage Microsoft Exchange Server environments, providing support for email and collaboration platforms.
- Monitor alert systems and respond appropriately in accordance with established guidelines and protocols.
- Analyze event logs and other diagnostic data to identify problems and implement effective solutions.
- Respond to escalated service requests, delivering enhanced technical support and resolution for complex issues.
- Oversee new user onboarding processes, ensuring seamless integration into client IT environments.
Qualifications & Requirements
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience with configuring, troubleshooting, and repairing networking equipment, Windows servers and workstations, Exchange Servers, and Active Directory.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a client-facing environment, such as sales engineering, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work closely with clients to understand and address their business and technology needs.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the capacity to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
- Proven experience in developing proposals and implementing technical solutions to fulfill specific business requirements.
- Self-motivated, results-oriented, professional, reliable, and able to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Thorough understanding of current technology trends and business productivity systems.
- Experience with remote monitoring and management (RMM) tools, such as Kaseya or ConnectWise, is a plus.
- Familiarity with Professional Services Automation (PSA) or ticketing systems, such as Autotask or ConnectWise, is desirable.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, extraordinary customer service skills, and the ability to multitask efficiently.
- Sales training and previous experience in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment are considered valuable assets.
Preferred Certifications (Not Required)
- CompTIA Network+ and/or CompTIA Security+ certifications.
- Microsoft certifications such as MCSA (Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator), MCSE (Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert), or MCITP (Microsoft Certified IT Professional).
- Cisco certifications such as CCNA or CCIE are highly regarded.
