Interventional Radiologist (IR) - Locum Tenens Position Overview
Optigy is seeking a skilled and adaptable Interventional Radiologist (IR) for a locum tenens, onsite assignment in Winchester, Kentucky. The Interventional Radiologist (IR) will work closely with other medical providers to ensure comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic support for patients requiring minimally invasive, image-guided procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform a broad spectrum of interventional radiology procedures, including diagnostic angiography, vascular interventions, biopsies, drainages, and other image-guided treatments according to hospital protocols and patient needs.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including referring physicians, nurses, and technologists to deliver coordinated and efficient patient care.
- Interpret radiological findings and communicate results promptly and accurately to referring providers and patients as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate, detailed, and timely documentation of all procedures, findings, and patient interactions in accordance with institutional and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in departmental meetings, case reviews, and quality improvement initiatives as requested to support continuous improvement efforts.
- Adapt to varying shift schedules and call requirements as determined by the department’s needs.
- Comply with all infection control, safety, and HIPAA regulations while providing clinical services.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
- Completion of an accredited residency in Diagnostic Radiology, followed by fellowship training in Interventional Radiology.
- Current, unrestricted medical license to practice in the state of Kentucky (KY) is required.
- Board certification or eligibility in Interventional Radiology (IR) is required; must meet all national and specialty-specific certification standards.
- Demonstrated experience providing interventional radiology services in a hospital or clinical setting.
- History of clean malpractice and background preferred for expedited credentialing, which may take up to 90 days.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a commitment to patient-centered care.
