This opportunity is for an experienced Internal Medicine Physician to provide primary care services on a locum tenens basis in Annapolis, MD. Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality primary care services to adult patients in an outpatient setting.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical history reviews, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations.
- Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including laboratory work and imaging studies, as appropriate.
- Prescribe medications and manage chronic diseases, emphasizing preventative care and patient education.
- Coordinate care with other healthcare professionals within the clinic to ensure seamless patient management.
- Document patient encounters and treatment plans accurately and timely within the electronic medical record system.
- Participate in routine case discussions and contribute to the clinic’s commitment to continuous quality improvement.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
- Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine.
- Current and unrestricted medical license to practice medicine in the state of Maryland.
- Demonstrated experience in delivering outpatient primary care services to adult patient populations.
- Strong clinical and diagnostic skills, with the ability to provide compassionate, patient-focused care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to collaborative practice.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records and standard office technology.
Work Environment & Schedule
This full-time locum tenens role is based in Annapolis, MD, a vibrant community known for its welcoming atmosphere and access to a variety of cultural and recreational activities. The clinic operates Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with a typical four-day work week unless an administrative day is required.
