Workstation Technician Job Overview
IDR is seeking a skilled Workstation Technician for a contract position with a leading healthcare client in Walnut Creek, CA. This is a full-time, two-year contract role designed for professionals eager to develop their careers in a collaborative and technology-driven environment. The Workstation Technician will play a key role in providing technical support, managing hardware and software issues, and contributing to seamless IT operations within a large healthcare organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver technical support for a Microsoft-based network, including maintenance and troubleshooting of Windows 10/11 operating systems, Microsoft Office 365, and Microsoft Teams.
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve issues related to desktop, laptop, and tablet hardware as well as software applications and peripheral devices.
- Support network connectivity and communication for end-user devices, addressing and resolving basic networking concerns.
- Assist with the deployment and setup of new equipment, including asset receipt, equipment staging, deployment execution, and updating asset management systems to ensure accurate inventory tracking.
- Perform data transfer and recovery processes to ensure continuity of information for end users, as well as administer email accounts and prepare assets for disposition in accordance with organizational policies.
- Adhere strictly to technical manuals and instructions to ensure consistency and accuracy in all IT operations and asset management tasks.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least two years of professional experience providing customer service support for PC and Macintosh desktop computing hardware in a client-facing environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of operating system configuration, hardware setup, and software installation for both PCs and Macs.
- Experience working with clinical staff and asset inventory management, including handling over five PC refreshes daily and 25 PC refreshes weekly.
