Desktop Support Technician Job OverviewIDR is currently seeking a Desktop Support Technician for a contract position with a leading healthcare organization in San Diego, CA. This full-time, two-year contract role offers the chance to work within a dynamic, team-oriented environment and contribute to the ongoing growth and success of a respected company in the healthcare sector. As a Desktop Support Technician, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of end-user workstations, collaborating with team members, and supporting daily technical needs within the organization.
Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive technical support for a Microsoft-based network, including the deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Windows 10/11 operating systems, Microsoft Office 365, and MS Teams.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues for desktops, laptops, and tablets, as well as troubleshoot network communication and peripheral device problems.
- Assist with deployment processes, such as asset receipt, equipment staging, deployment execution, and updating asset management systems to ensure accurate tracking and reporting.
- Conduct data transfers and recovery, manage email administration, and prepare IT assets for disposition in accordance with technical manuals and organizational policies.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional customer service experience supporting PC and Macintosh desktop computing hardware in a client-facing capacity.
- Demonstrated knowledge of operating systems, hardware configuration, and software installation procedures.
- Experience working directly with clinical staff and managing asset inventory is highly valued.
- Proven ability to handle a high volume of PC refreshes, including managing over 5 daily or 25 weekly PC refreshes.
