Insurance Sales Agent Job Description
Eric Safarian - State Farm Agency is seeking a dedicated and motivated full-time Insurance Sales Agent to join our team. This position is based in Staten Island, NY and offers a dynamic and rewarding opportunity for individuals who are passionate about helping clients with their insurance and financial services needs. As an Insurance Sales Agent, you will play a key role in driving new business, building strong customer relationships, and supporting clients with a wide range of insurance products. The role is designed for those who have an interest in sales and are eager to develop a career in the insurance industry. Prior insurance experience is not required, as comprehensive training will be provided. Candidates must have or be willing to obtain a Property and Casualty insurance license as well as a Life and Health insurance license.
Responsibilities
- Develop insurance quotes for prospective clients and deliver effective sales presentations to close new business.
- Establish and maintain strong, ongoing relationships with clients, providing follow-up support as needed to ensure satisfaction and retention.
- Engage in networking activities with local small business owners, including real estate agents, mortgage lenders, and auto dealers, to identify new prospects and partnership opportunities.
- Deliver prompt, accurate, and friendly customer support by responding to inquiries regarding insurance availability, eligibility, coverages, policy changes, transfers, claim submissions, and billing clarifications.
- Maintain a consistent work ethic and commitment to achieving daily, weekly, and monthly sales goals.
- Identify and pursue new financial service opportunities with both existing and prospective clients.
Qualifications
- Ability to obtain Property & Casualty insurance license and Life & Health insurance license as required by state regulations.
- 1-2 years of sales experience is preferred but not required.
- Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales targets and goals.
- Strong belief in the value of insurance and financial products in supporting clients’ financial wellbeing.
- Proven history of trustworthiness, dependability, and ethical conduct.
- Excellent written, verbal, and listening communication skills.
- Initiative and skill in generating appointments from cold outreach and developing new business leads.
