Insurance Customer Service Representative Position Overview
The Insurance Customer Service Representative plays a vital role in providing a high level of service to policyholders and prospective clients. Working as part of an agent’s team, the Insurance Customer Service Representative delivers value-based conversations and supports the growth of the insurance business through outstanding customer service and relationship management. Key Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain strong customer relationships by providing prompt, accurate, and friendly service at every interaction.
- Respond to customer inquiries regarding insurance policies, including availability, eligibility, coverages, policy changes, transfers, claim submissions, and billing questions.
- Educate clients on insurance options using a customer-focused, needs-based review process to help them make informed decisions.
- Follow up with customers as needed to ensure satisfaction and to address any concerns or changes in their needs.
- Demonstrate a strong work ethic and a commitment to success, contributing positively to the office culture and business goals.
- Maintain thorough and accurate records of customer interactions and provide timely activity reports to the agent as required.
- Stay current on product changes, industry regulations, licensing requirements, and technical developments through continuing education.
Qualifications
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively in written, verbal, and listening formats.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and on time.
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem solving and customer service.
- Ability to work efficiently in a team environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to learn and utilize computer systems and office technologies associated with insurance operations.
- Bilingual skills are a plus and can enhance communication with a diverse client base.
- Pride in delivering quality work and dedication to providing a positive customer experience.
- Property & Casualty license and Life & Health license (must obtain if not already held).

About the Company
This position is with an independent insurance agent affiliated with a leading insurance provider. Employees of independent agents are not employees of the parent insurance company, but are employed and managed by the independent agent. The Insurance Customer Service Representative will be required to complete all applicable licensing and training programs as part of employment, and must remain current with continuing education requirements.
