Insurance Agent Job Overview
Farm Bureau Financial Services is seeking motivated individuals for the position of Insurance Agent. This is a full-time contract opportunity designed for professionals interested in building a rewarding career in the insurance industry. The Insurance Agent role is ideal for those who are entrepreneurial, driven, and passionate about helping individuals protect their assets and plan for a secure future. Our Insurance Agents enjoy autonomy, comprehensive training, and the opportunity to develop a business within a supportive organizational structure. This position is currently open to candidates residing in Arizona, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Nebraska, New Mexico, South Dakota, and Utah.
Key Responsibilities
- Obtain and maintain required insurance licenses, including Property & Casualty and Life & Health licenses.
- Meet established new business production goals and objectives set by Farm Bureau Financial Services.
- Develop new client relationships through proactive prospecting, networking, and outreach strategies such as phone calls and community engagement.
- Set appointments, assess clients' insurance needs, and develop tailored insurance proposals to address their financial protection requirements.
- Deliver compelling sales presentations, close sales, and provide ongoing service to clients to ensure satisfaction and retention.
- Build and maintain a prospecting list, such as Project 150, to jumpstart business development efforts by connecting with family, friends, and acquaintances.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license and successfully complete a background check as part of the onboarding process.
- Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills in all client and team interactions.
Qualifications
- Ability to obtain required state insurance licenses (Property & Casualty, Life & Health).
- Strong entrepreneurial mindset and desire to operate and grow an independent business.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to effectively manage a flexible schedule.
- Demonstrated ability to advocate for clients and build trust within the community.
- Capability to identify everyday risks for clients and recommend appropriate insurance solutions.
- Preferred: SIE (Securities Industry Essentials) certification.
