Insurance Agency Coordinator Job Overview
The Insurance Agency Coordinator is responsible for driving growth and supporting the success of an insurance agency's sales team. This full-time position involves prospecting potential new customers, strengthening relationships with current clients, and delivering insurance product presentations within the assigned geographic area. The Insurance Agency Coordinator plays a key role in achieving the agency’s sales objectives and ensures that both individual and team sales targets are met. This position also involves supporting the onboarding, training, and ongoing development of independent agents, ensuring they have the resources and confidence to succeed in their roles.
Key Responsibilities
- Prospect for new insurance customers through field activities, referrals, leads, direct contact, and engaging current policyholders.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, promptly addressing their needs and concerns to foster long-term loyalty.
- Meet or exceed personal sales production goals and agency standards to remain actively affiliated with the agency.
- Deliver effective sales presentations using comprehensive knowledge of company insurance products and materials, adapted to each customer’s needs.
- Demonstrate proficiency with the company’s sales process and provide excellent service during customer service calls or direct inquiries to the appropriate internal channels.
- Identify, appoint, and support new independent agents, accompanying them on sales calls, assisting with presentations, and helping set up new business accounts.
- Field train and mentor assigned independent agents, ensuring they understand the agency’s sales process and have the tools necessary to succeed.
- Assist agents in planning assignments, setting appointments, and executing successful sales strategies as needed.
- Provide ongoing coaching and mentorship to both new and established agents, including accompanying them on sales visits and offering constructive feedback.
- Report promptly on any operational issues encountered during the establishment of new business accounts.
- Be available for meetings and guidance sessions with assigned agents, including organizing and participating in small group meetings for collaborative learning and support.
- Adhere to all agency, state, and company legal standards and regulations in daily operations.

Qualifications
- Demonstrated success and stability in previous work history.
- Minimum of one year of experience in coaching or leading teams.
- Proven ability to motivate and lead a team, with a track record of strong ethics and supporting others’ success.
- At least six months of experience meeting or exceeding sales goals.
- Previous experience in coaching and development is advantageous.
- Proficient with technology at an intermediate level.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
- Life, Accident, and Health insurance license required prior to appointment.
