Insurance Agency Coordinator Job Overview
The Insurance Agency Coordinator plays a critical role in driving the growth and success of an insurance agency. This full-time position is responsible for generating new business through field prospecting, building strong relationships with current and potential customers, and supporting sales objectives for the assigned area. The Insurance Agency Coordinator also provides ongoing support to new and existing independent agents, ensuring they are equipped to succeed and meet their sales goals. This position requires a commitment to ethical standards, effective communication, and the ability to coach and mentor agents throughout their professional development.
Key Responsibilities
- Prospect and acquire new insurance customers through direct outreach, referrals, lead generation, and targeted marketing strategies.
- Meet with existing customers to identify their insurance needs and offer suitable insurance products, maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Achieve personal sales production targets, ensuring at least 75% of annual personal production as an agent while contributing to team sales objectives.
- Conduct professional sales presentations using company-approved materials and processes tailored to customer needs.
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of company insurance products and the sales process to effectively represent the agency.
- Respond to customer service inquiries or direct customers to the appropriate service channels as needed.
- Assist in identifying and appointing new independent agents, guiding them through onboarding and supporting them in initial sales calls and presentations.
- Field train and mentor independent agents, providing hands-on support and coaching during sales calls and business development activities.
- Collaborate in assignment planning, appointment setting, and business setup for new agents to ensure a solid foundation for their success.
- Report promptly on operational issues encountered in establishing new business or supporting agents.
- Participate in regular meetings with assigned agents, offering guidance, support, and field training as needed.
- Adhere to all agency, state, and company legal standards, maintaining compliance at all times.

Qualifications

- At least six months of proven sales experience with a track record of meeting or exceeding goals.
- Previous experience in coaching, agent development, or insurance sales is a plus.
- Intermediate proficiency in using technology and business software applications.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
- Must obtain a Life, Accident, and Health insurance license prior to appointment to the Insurance Agency Coordinator position.
