Generator Technician - Summary
- Full-time, direct hire field service role specializing in maintenance and repair of power generation equipment.
- Focus on diesel and natural gas generators (50-2,000 KW), including ATS and control systems.
- Based in Charlotte, North Carolina, serving a diverse client base across the region.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct preventative maintenance, detailed inspections, and repairs on generator systems.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with generators, Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS), and electrical control systems.
- Repair electrical and mechanical faults to restore equipment to optimal condition.
- Perform load bank testing, breaker testing, and advanced system diagnostics.
- Service and maintain parallel and medium voltage generator systems.
- Read and interpret technical schematics, blueprints, and manuals.
- Prepare and submit service quotes as required for customer approval.
- Maintain clear communication with customers and internal service teams regarding project status.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and best practices on every job site.
- Care for and maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment to ensure readiness and reliability.
- Deliver professional, high-quality customer service at every interaction.

Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of three to five years of experience in power generation, mechanical, or electrical service fields.
- Proven experience working with diesel and natural gas generators.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for both mechanical and electrical systems.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- OSHA 30 certification preferred but not required.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to outdoor environments and variable weather conditions.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time, including overnight stays as needed.
- Must successfully complete background check and drug screening requirements.
