Gastroenterologist (Locum Tenens) | GI Physician Position OverviewOptigy is seeking a Gastroenterologist (Locum Tenens) to join a multi-specialty physician network serving Miami, FL. This full-time, onsite opportunity allows a skilled GI Physician to provide high-quality gastroenterology services within a collaborative and dynamic healthcare environment. The role is designed for a dedicated provider eager to make a positive impact on patient outcomes and to help expand gastroenterology services across a diverse community.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver comprehensive, evidence-based medical diagnosis, consultation, and direct patient care in a clinical setting, seeing an average of 18 patients per day on clinic days.
- Perform between 5 and 8 gastroenterology procedures on designated procedural days, ensuring the highest clinical standards are maintained at all times.
- Utilize strong clinical acumen and diagnostic skills to assess, diagnose, and manage a broad spectrum of gastrointestinal conditions.
- Develop, implement, and manage gastroenterology service lines in alignment with clinical and organizational goals, contributing to the overall growth of the department.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses, and support staff, to ensure seamless patient care and optimal outcomes.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to leading healthcare practices, ensuring compliance with organizational protocols and regulatory requirements.
- Doctorate degree in Medicine (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
- Active, unrestricted Florida medical license required.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology (GI Physician).
- DEA certification required.
- BLS/ACLS certification (American Heart Association), with at least six months validity remaining.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant gastroenterology experience preferred, demonstrating expertise in both clinical and procedural settings.
