Financial Advisor Position OverviewAs a Financial Advisor (Full-time) with New York Life, you will play a critical role in helping clients achieve their financial goals, plan for the future, and prepare for the unexpected. This is a client-focused position where your primary responsibility is to develop trusted relationships with individuals, families, and small businesses, providing tailored financial solutions and guidance. The role is ideal for motivated individuals who are passionate about making a positive impact on their clients’ financial well-being, building long-term relationships, and seeking opportunities for professional growth within the financial services industry.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain long-term relationships with clients by understanding their financial needs and objectives.
- Provide guidance on a broad range of financial products and services, including life insurance, annuities, long-term care insurance, disability income insurance, and investment products such as mutual funds.
- Educate clients on available solutions and help them make informed decisions to achieve their financial goals.
- Utilize digital sales, prospecting, and marketing tools to attract and retain new clients through web, social, and email content.
- Participate in New York Life’s comprehensive training programs to develop marketing, business development, and customer relationship management skills.
- Meet specific performance requirements and benchmarks to progress within the organization and qualify for advancement opportunities, including management roles.
- Collaborate with in-house experts and utilize available resources to address client questions and provide high-quality service.
- Maintain all necessary licenses and registrations, including FINRA securities licenses, to offer investment products as a registered representative with NYLIFE Securities LLC.
- Transition into a management role after meeting performance criteria, with responsibilities that include recruiting, training, and coaching other financial professionals.
- Sales or managerial experience in any industry is highly valued.
- Entrepreneurial experience, such as running a business, is beneficial.
- An MBA or equivalent degree is advantageous but not required.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate securities licenses and FINRA registrations.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Motivation to help others and make a meaningful impact in the community.
- Willingness to participate in extensive training and development programs.
New York Life provides a robust training curriculum designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel as a Financial Advisor. During your first year, you will learn the core responsibilities of a financial professional, working directly with clients and leveraging a comprehensive suite of digital and product resources. After a successful initial year, you may be eligible for the Accelerated Path to Management Program, which includes a specialized six-month Associate Partner training program. This program prepares you for leadership responsibilities, including recruiting and mentoring other financial professionals. Ongoing opportunities for advancement and career growth are available within the organization.
Compensation and BenefitsCompensation for the Financial Advisor position is commission-based during the initial phase. Upon advancement to an Associate Partner role, you will receive a competitive salary and may qualify for additional performance-based compensation.
