Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) / Physician Assistant (PA-C) Job Overview
Emporia Medical Associates is seeking a full-time Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join our established and dynamic primary care team. The successful candidate will work in a collaborative environment, providing high-quality, patient-centered care alongside two Family Medicine Physicians. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a busy primary care office that is fully equipped with modern office ancillaries such as X-ray, Bone Density, and Laboratory services.
Primary Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive direct patient care to individuals of all ages, focusing on the management of both acute and chronic health conditions.
- Conduct detailed physical examinations, obtain medical histories, and perform diagnostic assessments as needed.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests including laboratory studies, X-rays, and bone density scans to support clinical decision making.
- Prescribe, manage, and monitor medications in accordance with practice protocols and state/national guidelines.
- Develop and implement patient care plans, including the coordination of referrals to specialists or scheduling of additional appointments as warranted.
- Provide patient education regarding disease prevention, health promotion, medication adherence, and lifestyle modification.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated, holistic patient care.
- Participate in shared on-call responsibilities to ensure continuity of care for patients outside of regular office hours.
Qualifications
- Current and unrestricted licensure as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C).
- Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
- Certification by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), or National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), as applicable.
- Demonstrated clinical experience in primary care, urgent care, or family medicine settings preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and treatment planning skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, with a commitment to providing compassionate, patient-focused care.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and to adapt to a fast-paced clinical setting.
