Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Job OverviewHuron Clinic is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to join our team full-time in Huron, SD. The Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive primary care services to patients of all ages, promoting wellness, and improving health outcomes within our community. This full-time position offers regular Monday through Friday hours, with no weekend or holiday shifts required.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver high-quality primary care to patients across the lifespan, ensuring a patient-centered approach to healthcare.
- Conduct thorough physical examinations and comprehensive medical assessments to identify patient health needs and concerns.
- Diagnose and manage both acute and chronic illnesses, providing evidence-based treatment and follow-up care tailored to individual patients.
- Order, perform, and interpret a variety of diagnostic tests to aid in the evaluation and management of patient conditions.
- Prescribe appropriate medications and develop personalized wellness plans to promote preventive health and disease management.
- Educate patients and their families on health maintenance, disease prevention, and treatment options, empowering them to make informed healthcare decisions.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough documentation of patient encounters and clinical activities in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated and holistic care.
- Participate in utilization review processes and contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the clinic.
- Current and unrestricted licensure as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP).
- Master's degree in Nursing with a specialization in Family Practice from an accredited institution.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems; experience with Athena is preferred but not required.
- Experience in utilization review is beneficial.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and exercise sound clinical judgment in a fast-paced primary care setting.
- Commitment to teamwork and collaboration with multidisciplinary clinical staff.
- At least one year of experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner is preferred, though new graduates are encouraged to apply.
