We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to join our healthcare team at TRIAD ADULT AND PEDIATRIC MEDICINE INC. The Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) will play a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care, collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring optimal patient outcomes. Primary Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive physical examinations and obtain detailed medical histories from patients.
- Interpret and accurately document clinical findings to support effective patient care.
- Order, obtain, and interpret laboratory and diagnostic studies to assist in patient evaluation and treatment planning.
- Formulate preliminary diagnoses and develop appropriate therapeutic care plans by integrating clinical data.
- Administer medications, immunizations, and injections in compliance with state regulations and clinic protocols.
- Provide direct patient care services, including education, counseling, and recommendations for medications, treatments, and preventive health measures tailored to individual and family needs.
- Coordinate and schedule laboratory studies and diagnostic procedures, ensuring efficient patient flow and accuracy.
- Educate patients about the necessity, preparation, and expected outcomes of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
- Review, write, and renew medication prescriptions in accordance with standing orders and supervising physician guidance.
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate patient records, ensuring all documentation meets clinic and legal standards.
- Deliver patient care services under indirect physician supervision, including procedures such as suture removal, catheterization, wound care, dressing changes, pelvic exams, and foreign body removal.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to manage acute and long-term patient needs, monitor patient progress, and consult as necessary.
- Work closely with triage nurses, community liaisons, and wraparound staff to coordinate comprehensive care, follow-ups, and continuity of care for complex cases.
- Review and integrate school reports, psychological evaluations, and other external assessments into patient care plans as appropriate.
- Prepare referral letters and summarize records to facilitate specialist consultations.
- Communicate with external agencies and resources, such as dental providers, social services, and allied health professionals, to support the holistic needs of clinic patients.
- Refer patients to specialists such as ENT, pediatric surgery, dermatology, neurology, and others as indicated by clinical findings.
- Participate in clinical research projects and prepare analyses or consensus reports as requested.
- Attend staff meetings, Grand Rounds, and continuing education sessions to remain current in clinical best practices and contribute to team development.
- Promote organizational goals, maintain patient confidentiality, and deliver superior customer service at all times.
- Safely dispose of all contaminated and disposable materials according to clinic protocols and safety guidelines.
- Comply with all company policies regarding safety, health regulations, and ethical standards.
- Demonstrate adaptability and flexibility in response to shifting priorities and evolving patient care needs.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure smooth clinic operations.
Qualifications and Preparation
- Master’s degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP).
- Current and valid North Carolina RN and Nurse Practitioner license, with approval from the NC Medical Board.
- CPR certification and a valid North Carolina driver’s license.
- Proficient in the use of computers, telephones, and standard office equipment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Minimum of three years of clinical experience, preferably in ambulatory pediatric care.
- At least two years of experience functioning as a Nurse Practitioner.
