Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) - Full-time Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to join our Family Health Clinic in Virginia on a full-time basis. As a Family Nurse Practitioner, you will play a critical role in delivering comprehensive primary healthcare services to patients of all ages. This is an excellent opportunity to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to support the health and well-being of individuals and families in our community. The position follows a Monday through Friday schedule from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide primary healthcare services to patients across the lifespan, including children, adolescents, adults, and seniors.
- Conduct comprehensive health assessments, including physical examinations, complete annual wellness visits, and preventive screenings.
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic health conditions, utilizing evidence-based clinical guidelines.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests and laboratory results as appropriate for patient care.
- Formulate and implement individualized healthcare management plans, including ordering and prescribing therapeutic treatments and medications in accordance with established practice protocols and state regulations.
- Provide care for new patients, including initial health histories and assessments.
- Conduct well visits, acute sick visits, follow-up appointments, and transition of care visits to ensure continuity and quality of care.
- Complete surgical clearance evaluations and document findings as needed for patient procedures.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals to coordinate and optimize patient care.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and complete patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to clinic policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of medicine/nursing with a Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing.
- Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) in Virginia.
- Current DEA license required for prescribing medications.
- AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS-HCP) certification required.
- Advanced Life Support certification preferred.
- Eligible for prescriptive authority in accordance with Virginia Board of Medicine/Nursing regulations.
- One to three years of clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply.
- Strong collaborative skills and ability to work as part of a healthcare team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective patient and team interactions.
- Proficiency with computer systems and electronic medical records (EMR) required.
