Family Medicine Physician (MD/DO) Job Description
West Salem Family Practice is seeking a dedicated Family Medicine Physician (MD/DO) to join our established, mid-sized primary care clinic. As a Family Medicine Physician (MD/DO), you will play a crucial role in promoting the health and wellness of patients across all age groups, ensuring comprehensive, continuous care for individuals and families.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, compassionate primary care services to a diverse patient population, managing acute and chronic conditions, preventive care, and health education for pediatric through geriatric patients.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, obtain medical histories, perform physical examinations, and order or interpret diagnostic tests as appropriate.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs, evidence-based guidelines, and collaborative input from the care team.
- Work closely with a dedicated and experienced support staff to maximize efficiency and ensure seamless care coordination.
- Foster positive patient and family relationships by demonstrating excellent communication skills, empathy, and respect for diverse backgrounds.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary professionals including nurses, medical assistants, and specialists to deliver integrated care and optimize patient outcomes.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to support the ongoing advancement of clinical practices and patient satisfaction within the clinic.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) and adhere to all regulatory, legal, and ethical standards of care.
Qualifications
- Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree required from an accredited institution.
- Completion of an accredited Family Medicine residency program.
- Board certification or board eligibility in Family Medicine (ABFM or AOBFP).
- Active and unrestricted medical license in the state of Oregon (or ability to obtain prior to start date).
- Demonstrated commitment to providing patient-focused, culturally competent care.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a collaborative, team-oriented clinic environment.
