Family Medicine Physician (MD/DO) Job Overview
American Indian Health & Services (AIH&S) is seeking a dedicated Family Medicine Physician (MD/DO) to join our full-time clinical team in Santa Barbara, CA. As a core primary care provider, you will play a pivotal role in delivering comprehensive healthcare to a diverse patient population, supporting individuals and families from all socioeconomic, racial, and cultural backgrounds. Key Responsibilities
- Provide diagnostic treatment, consultations, referrals, emergency, and other medical services to patients, maintaining a productivity rate of approximately three patients per hour.
- Collaborate with medical staff to develop, review, and update medical protocols and best practices.
- Ensure continuity of care for patients by coordinating referrals to specialty care and leveraging community resources to support patient needs.
- Participate actively in organizational committees, such as Quality Management, to support continuous improvement in care delivery.
- Adhere to recognized standards of care to maintain high levels of quality and patient safety.
- Utilize the NextGen Electronic Health Record (EHR) system to manage patient information and documentation.
- Strive to meet and uphold the requirements for NCQA PCMH Level 3 recognition, supporting the delivery of coordinated, high-quality care.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
- Active, unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of California.
- Demonstrated experience in family medicine practice.
- Experience working in a community health care setting is preferred.
- Board Certification in Family Medicine is preferred.
Employment Details
- Employment Type: Full-time
- Work Schedule: 40 hours per week; clinic hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 6:00pm.
- FLSA Status: Exempt
