Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) - Summary- Provide direct patient care in the emergency room setting, responding quickly to acute medical situations and trauma cases.
- Prioritize and triage patients according to the severity of their conditions to ensure timely and effective treatment.
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Offer emotional support and education to patients and their families during stressful or critical situations.
- Ensure compliance with all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to emergency medical care.
- Assess and document patient health status, vital signs, and medical histories upon admission to the emergency room.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and emergency interventions as prescribed by medical staff.
- Monitor patient progress and communicate changes to the healthcare team promptly.
- Perform diagnostic procedures, such as EKGs, wound care, and basic laboratory tests as needed.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records for all patients under care.
- Support a safe and clean work environment by adhering to infection control protocols and safety guidelines.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to remain current with emergency nursing best practices.
- Assist with patient discharge planning and provide post-care instructions as necessary.
