Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care in the emergency department, ensuring timely assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of a wide range of acute and urgent conditions.
- Participate in emergency procedures and interventions in accordance with hospital protocols and industry standards.
- Collaborate closely with nurses, advanced practice providers, and allied health professionals to deliver coordinated and efficient patient care.
- Maintain accurate and thorough medical records, documenting all patient encounters, assessments, and interventions using the facility’s electronic health record system.
- Demonstrate adaptability in managing varying shift schedules and responding to changing department needs, including potential call coverage as assigned.
- Engage in clinical quality improvement initiatives and adhere to all hospital policies and safety regulations.
- Support a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the emergency medicine team.
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
- Completion of an accredited residency in Emergency Medicine.
- Board certification or eligibility in Emergency Medicine (ABEM, AOBEM, or equivalent national certification).
- Active, unrestricted medical license in the state of Alabama; preference given to candidates with a clean malpractice and background history.
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications as required by hospital policy.
- Demonstrated clinical competence and experience in emergency department settings.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
