Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive emergency medical care to patients presenting with a wide range of acute conditions, ensuring timely diagnosis and treatment.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including nurses, advanced practice providers, and support staff, to optimize patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and thorough medical records in compliance with regulatory and departmental standards.
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to ongoing quality improvement initiatives.
- Provide patient education and communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding treatment plans and follow-up care.
- Adhere to the policies and procedures of both Optigy and the assigned facility, as well as all relevant state and federal regulations.
- Respond promptly to emergencies and urgent medical situations, demonstrating sound clinical judgment and decision-making.
- Fulfill scheduled shifts as assigned, which may vary based on departmental needs, and participate in on-call rotations as required.
Qualifications
- Board certification or eligibility in Emergency Medicine, Family Practice (FP), or Internal Medicine (IM).
- Active and unrestricted Louisiana medical license (LA license) is preferred.
- Demonstrated clinical experience in emergency medicine, urgent care, or acute care settings.
- Clean malpractice and background history preferred.
- Ability to complete credentialing, typically within 90 days, with expedited processing for providers with a clean professional record.
- Commitment to delivering patient-centered, evidence-based emergency care.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
