Emergency Medicine Physician (EM) – Locum Tenens Position OverviewOptigy is seeking a dedicated Emergency Medicine Physician (EM) – Locum Tenens to join our team for a full-time assignment in Marshall, TX. This role is ideal for board-certified physicians seeking a consistent, long-term locum opportunity within a collaborative and supportive emergency department environment. As a member of our provider network, you will deliver high-acuity emergency care in a community-centered setting, making a meaningful impact on patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive emergency medical care to patients presenting with a wide range of urgent and emergent conditions.
- Collaborate with a team of dedicated nurse practitioners (NPs), physician assistants (PAs), and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care and efficient department workflow.
- Utilize advanced clinical skills to assess, diagnose, and treat patients in a fast-paced emergency department.
- Participate in regular shift rotations as outlined by department scheduling, ensuring adequate physician coverage for all patient care needs.
- Adhere to facility protocols and Optigy standards for clinical excellence, patient safety, and documentation.
- Board Certification: ABEM (American Board of Emergency Medicine) required. Alternative boards such as ABPS are not accepted for this role.
- Residency: Completion of an ACGME-accredited Emergency Medicine residency program is required.
- Certifications: No additional certifications are required if ABEM certified.
- Experience working in a high-acuity emergency department setting preferred.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and clinical decision-making skills.

- Minimum of 5 shifts per month required, with flexibility in scheduling to accommodate provider availability and department needs.
- Physician coverage averages 25.86 MD hours per day, with NP/PA coverage averaging 11.29 hours per day.
- Shift Times include: Monday (7a–4p, 1p–9p, 9p–7a), Sunday, Tuesday–Thursday (7a–3p, 2p–10p, 9p–7a).
