Emergency Medicine Physician (EM) - Locum Tenens Position Overview
Optigy is seeking a highly skilled Emergency Medicine Physician (EM) for a Locum Tenens opportunity in Osage Beach, Missouri. This role is designed for board-certified or board-eligible Emergency Medicine physicians who thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and are looking to provide comprehensive emergency care coverage. As a Locum Tenens Emergency Medicine Physician, you will be part of a dedicated team delivering critical care to a diverse patient population, with flexible scheduling options and a focus on night shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, patient-centered emergency medical care in a community hospital setting with an annual emergency department (ED) volume of 37,000 visits.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including other physicians and advanced practice providers (APPs), to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Work 12-hour shifts with shift options including 7 a.m.–7 p.m., 1 p.m.–11 p.m., and 7 p.m.–7 a.m., with a strong preference for night shift coverage.
- Deliver care in a no-call environment, allowing full focus during scheduled hours.
- Utilize evidence-based practices and clinical judgment to diagnose and treat a wide range of acute illnesses and injuries.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards.
- Engage in ongoing communication with patients, families, and healthcare team members to facilitate coordinated care.
Qualifications
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Emergency Medicine (EM) preferred. Family Practice (FP) or Internal Medicine (IM) physicians must have at least 3 years of emergency department experience.
- Active medical and controlled substance licenses required.
- Current DEA registration and valid driver’s license.
- Certifications required: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
- Documentation of flu and TB testing within the past 12 months.
- Proof of completion of medical education and residency training.
- Continuing Medical Education (CME) records from the past two years.
- Case and procedure logs, as well as documentation of board certification or eligibility within the established timeline.
