Emergency Medicine Physician (EM Physician) – Full-Time – San Antonio, TX Job OverviewOptigy is seeking a dedicated Emergency Medicine Physician (EM Physician) to join our team at a micro-hospital located on the Southwest Side of San Antonio, TX. This is a permanent, full-time, onsite opportunity to deliver comprehensive inpatient and 24/7 emergency medical care in a dynamic, patient-centered environment. The role is ideal for candidates who are board-certified or board-eligible in Emergency Medicine (EM), or in Family Medicine (FP) or Internal Medicine (IM) with significant emergency medicine experience.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality emergency medical care to a diverse patient population in a micro-hospital setting.
- Manage an annual emergency department (ED) volume of approximately 27,000 visits, utilizing 15 ED beds and 8 inpatient beds.
- Work 12-hour shifts with a consistent model of 24-hour physician coverage per day, supported by advanced practice providers (APPs).
- Document patient care accurately using Picis electronic medical record system.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and efficient care transitions.
- Utilize available resources, including 24/7 in-house X-ray and CT, round-the-clock radiology reads on all modalities, and on-call ultrasound support.
- Participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives and adhere to clinical governance standards.
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Emergency Medicine (EM) or board-certified or board-eligible in Family Medicine (FP) or Internal Medicine (IM) with significant emergency medicine experience.
- Current certifications in ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) are required.
- Strong clinical decision-making and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced emergency department environment.
- Access to a National Clinical Governance Board (NCGB) for clinical oversight and support.
- 24/7/365 live physician support available for clinical and operational guidance.
