Emergency Medicine Physician (EM Physician) Position OverviewOptigy is actively seeking a dedicated Emergency Medicine Physician (EM Physician) for a permanent, full-time opportunity in Schenectady, NY. This onsite role offers the chance to work within a high-acuity, high-volume Emergency Department at a renowned 368-bed hospital serving the greater Capital Region of upstate New York. The facility is recognized for excellence in cardiovascular, stroke, and surgical care, and provides a stimulating environment for emergency clinicians focused on delivering superior patient outcomes.
Responsibilities- Deliver comprehensive emergency medical care to a diverse patient population in a 368-bed full-service hospital setting.
- Work collaboratively with a robust team under a 24/7 emergency physician coverage model, including participation in the Physician in Triage (PIT) program for optimal patient flow.
- Manage high patient volumes, with the Emergency Department seeing approximately 51,000 annual visits.
- Utilize Cerner EMR and an electronic Emergency Department Tracking Board for efficient patient documentation and care coordination.
- Support the hospital's commitment to inclusivity and patient-centered care, as demonstrated by its Certified Autism Center (CAC) designation.
- Engage in ongoing professional development through access to leadership training, efficiency programs, and annual clinical assemblies.
- Participate in national clinical governance initiatives and collaborate with peers through the National Clinical Governance Board (NCGB).
- Board Certified or Board Prepared (BC/BP) in Emergency Medicine, or in Family or Internal Medicine with demonstrated Emergency Medicine experience.
- Current certification in Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
- Eligible for J-1 Visa sponsorship.
