Emergency Medicine Physician (EM Physician) Position OverviewOptigy is seeking a dedicated Emergency Medicine Physician (EM Physician) for a permanent, full-time, onsite position in Waco, TX. This role is ideal for board-certified or board-eligible physicians in Emergency Medicine looking to join a high-volume emergency department on a comprehensive medical campus. The emergency department is a certified stroke and chest pain center, ensuring high standards of acute care and rapid response. Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive emergency medical care to a diverse patient population in a 51-bed emergency department.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants, to deliver high-quality patient care.
- Work 10-hour shifts with a coverage model featuring 50–60 hours of physician coverage and 30–40 hours of NP/PA coverage per day.
- Utilize Epic electronic medical records (EMR) system for efficient and accurate charting and communication.
- Contribute to a department that handles approximately 54,000 annual visits, with an average of 2 patients per hour and an 18% admission rate.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and quality improvement initiatives supported by the National Clinical Governance Board (NCGB).
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Emergency Medicine (EM Physician).
