Optigy is seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine Physician (EM Physician) for a locum tenens, onsite position in Gadsden, AL. Responsibilities
- Deliver acute and emergency medical care to patients of all ages in accordance with current clinical standards and protocols.
- Conduct rapid assessments, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and formulate treatment plans for a variety of emergent conditions.
- Collaborate with nurses, advanced practice providers, and other clinical staff to ensure continuity and consistency of care.
- Maintain comprehensive, accurate, and timely documentation in accordance with hospital and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in department meetings, quality assurance initiatives, and ongoing professional development activities.
- Respond to acute code situations and provide leadership in resuscitation and stabilization efforts.
- Adhere strictly to all hospital policies, procedures, and compliance guidelines while practicing as an EM Physician in Gadsden, AL.
- Engage in effective patient and family communication, ensuring that urgent care plans are understood and questions are addressed.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
- Completion of an ACGME- or AOA-accredited Emergency Medicine residency program.
- Board certification or board eligibility in Emergency Medicine (ABEM or AOBEM) is required.
- Active and unrestricted Alabama medical license (AL license) preferred.
- Clean malpractice and background history strongly desired for expedited credentialing.
- Current certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Basic Life Support (BLS) as required by hospital policy.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing clinical environments and maintain a high standard of patient care as an Emergency Medicine Physician in Gadsden, AL.
