Emergency Medicine Physician (EM) - Locum Tenens Position OverviewOptigy is seeking a dedicated and experienced Emergency Medicine Physician (EM) for a Locum Tenens, Full-Time, Onsite position in Eagle Pass, Texas. This is an excellent opportunity for board-certified or board-eligible physicians who are looking to provide high-quality emergency care in a dynamic community hospital setting. Key Responsibilities- Provide expert emergency medical care to patients presenting to a high-volume, Level IV trauma emergency department with 14 beds.
- Deliver care for an annual patient volume of approximately 8,700, averaging around 63 patients per day.
- Work collaboratively with ED staff to ensure efficient and compassionate patient care without scribe support.
- Utilize Cerner electronic medical record (EMR) system for accurate documentation of all patient interactions and interventions.
- Manage a broad range of acute and emergent medical conditions, ensuring timely assessment and stabilizing treatment.
- Participate in shift coverage, maintaining flexible scheduling without on-call requirements.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine (ABEM or AOBEM), Family Medicine (ABFM), or Internal Medicine (ABIM) with significant emergency medicine experience.
- Completion of residency training in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine.
- Active and unrestricted Texas medical license required for locum tenens practice.
- Current certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
- Facility does not accept American Board of Physician Specialties (ABPS) certifications.
- All standard credentialing documentation must be provided and verified prior to the start date.
- This role is focused on patient care in a busy community emergency department environment.
- The start date for this opportunity is June 16, 2025.
