Emergency Medicine Physician (EM) - Locum Tenens OverviewOptigy is seeking a dedicated Emergency Medicine Physician (EM) for a locum tenens assignment in Corydon, Indiana. This position offers the opportunity to join a collaborative emergency medicine team at a community-focused hospital with a manageable patient volume. The facility is conveniently located near the Louisville metropolitan area, providing access to the amenities of a major city while enjoying the natural beauty and community atmosphere of Southern Indiana.
Responsibilities- Provide high-quality emergency medical care to patients presenting to the emergency department.
- Work collaboratively with other physicians and experienced NP/PAs during 12-hour shifts to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Utilize the EPIC electronic medical record (EMR) system for documentation and patient management.
- Participate in a staffing model that includes 24 physician hours and 10 NP/PA hours per day, supporting efficient patient flow and care delivery.
- Deliver care in accordance with established clinical guidelines and hospital protocols.
- Engage in flexible scheduling with available day and night shifts (7 a.m.–7 p.m., 7 p.m.–7 a.m.), and no call requirements.
- Active and unrestricted Indiana medical license required to proceed with credentialing.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine (ABEM), or in Internal Medicine/Family Medicine with relevant emergency department experience and ACLS certification.
- Recent TB test within the past 12 months (or chest x-ray if positive TB test).
- Ability to provide three peer references.
- Current DEA registration and copies of all professional licenses.
- Documentation of education, certifications, and procedure/case logs as required by hospital credentialing.
- This is a locum tenens, onsite, full-time opportunity beginning as soon as possible, with an open-ended assignment window.
- Annual emergency department volume is approximately 13,500 visits.
- Credentialing process is streamlined, with emergency temporary privileges available for expedited onboarding.
