Emergency Medicine Physician (EM) - Locum Tenens OverviewOptigy is seeking a dedicated Emergency Medicine Physician (EM) for a locum tenens position, providing coverage at a respected health system in Osage Beach, Missouri. This opportunity offers a flexible schedule and the chance to work with a high-performing emergency department (ED) team in a high-volume hospital setting. Responsibilities- Deliver high-quality emergency medical care to a diverse patient population with a focus on patient safety and evidence-based practices.
- Work collaboratively with a skilled team of emergency medicine physicians (MDs) and advanced practice providers (APPs) to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Provide full-scope emergency medicine coverage, including acute care assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and stabilization of patients presenting to the ED.
- Participate in 12-hour shifts with a strong preference for night coverage to meet department needs.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
- Support a robust annual ED volume (approximately 37,000 visits per year), demonstrating adaptability and clinical expertise in a fast-paced environment.
- Engage in effective communication and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, patients, and families.
- Perform procedures and interventions within the scope of emergency medicine practice.
- Adhere to all hospital protocols, quality standards, and best practices.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine (EM); physicians from Family Practice (FP) or Internal Medicine (IM) backgrounds must have at least three years of emergency department experience.
- Active and unrestricted medical license and controlled substances registration (DEA).
- Current certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
- Valid driver's license and compliance with all credentialing requirements, including up-to-date flu and TB screenings within the last 12 months.
- Proof of completed medical education, residency, and recent continuing medical education (CME) activities (past two years).
- Ability to provide relevant case and procedure logs as requested.
This is a locum tenens position, offering coverage from June 1, 2025, through October 31, 2025, with no on-call responsibilities and flexible scheduling options.
