Emergency Medicine Physician (EM Physician) Position OverviewOptigy is seeking a dedicated Emergency Medicine Physician (EM Physician) for a full-time, onsite opportunity in Lehigh Acres, FL. This role is designed for physicians passionate about providing acute care in a dynamic emergency department environment. The facility serves approximately 26,000 patients annually and is equipped with 11 emergency department beds. This is a 1099 employment type position, offering consistent shift coverage alongside a collaborative team of medical doctors and advanced practice providers (APPs).
Key Responsibilities- Deliver comprehensive emergency medical care to patients presenting with a wide range of acute illnesses and injuries.
- Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including other physicians and advanced practice providers, to ensure timely and effective patient-centered care.
- Utilize the Epic electronic medical record (EMR) system for all documentation, patient tracking, and care coordination.
- Manage and prioritize patient flow in a high-volume emergency department setting with approximately 26,000 annual visits.
- Participate in structured shift schedules, including 12-hour shifts (7am–7pm, 7pm–7am) to ensure 24/7 coverage of the emergency department.
- Collaborate with APPs during variable coverage hours to optimize patient care and department efficiency.
- Ensure all clinical practices adhere to current standards of care, hospital policies, and applicable regulations.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine by the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM) or American Osteopathic Board of Emergency Medicine (AOBEM).
- Alternatively, Family Practice (FP) or Internal Medicine (IM) physicians with at least two years of recent emergency medicine experience will be considered.
- Active Florida medical license is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Experience with the Epic EMR system is advantageous.
