Emergency Medicine Physician (EM) – Full-Time – Smithville, TX Position Overview
Optigy is actively seeking a dedicated and skilled Emergency Medicine Physician (EM) to join a well-supported team at a Level IV Trauma Center in Smithville, TX. This full-time, onsite opportunity is ideal for board-certified or board-eligible physicians in Emergency Medicine, as well as Family Medicine (FM) or Internal Medicine (IM) physicians with Emergency Medicine experience. As part of this community-focused rural emergency department, you will play a critical role in providing quality emergency care to local residents while benefiting from a collaborative and supportive work environment.
Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive emergency medical care to patients presenting with a wide range of acute conditions and injuries.
- Stabilize and manage trauma and critical care cases, coordinating patient transfers as necessary to higher-level facilities.
- Work 12- and 24-hour shifts with 24/7 physician coverage in a 6-bed emergency department serving approximately 8,000 annual visits.
- Utilize Cerner EMR system for documentation and patient management.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and continuity of care.
- Engage in ongoing communication with hospital staff, consulting specialists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain high standards of clinical practice and comply with hospital protocols and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Emergency Medicine (EM), or in Family Medicine (FM) or Internal Medicine (IM) with significant Emergency Medicine experience.
- Current, unrestricted medical license or eligibility to obtain licensure in Texas.
- Strong clinical skills in emergency and acute care settings, with the ability to manage diverse patient populations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a team-oriented approach.
- Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care.
