Emergency Medicine Physician (EM) Position OverviewOptigy is actively seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine Physician (EM) for a permanent, full-time position at a high-volume, advanced freestanding Emergency Department. This role is based in Albany, NY, a vibrant city known for its access to outdoor recreation, cultural amenities, and excellent educational institutions. As an Emergency Medicine Physician (EM), you will deliver comprehensive emergency medical care in a modern facility equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment resources.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert medical care to patients presenting with a wide range of emergency conditions in a high-volume setting, with an annual ED volume of approximately 42,000 visits.
- Utilize advanced diagnostic equipment and work closely with an onsite laboratory and imaging services, including 24/7 remote radiology reads, to promptly assess and treat patients.
- Document patient care and clinical interactions using the Epic Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
- Participate in a flexible shift structure featuring 8–9 hour shifts, designed to promote work-life balance and consistent quality of care.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and leverage system-wide cross-credentialing, allowing seamless practice within a larger integrated health system.
- Engage in ongoing professional development through access to resources such as national clinical governance, 24/7 physician support, and internal training programs.
- Ensure timely transfer of patients as needed, with a facility transfer rate of 9–10%.
- Maintain high standards of patient safety, quality, and satisfaction in a fully equipped emergency care environment.
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
- Completion of an accredited Emergency Medicine residency program.
- Board certification or board eligibility in Emergency Medicine (EM) required.
- Active or eligibility for unrestricted medical licensure in the state of New York.
- Strong clinical skills, with the ability to handle the full spectrum of emergency medical presentations independently and collaboratively.
