Emergency Medicine Physician (EM) Job OverviewOptigy is seeking a dedicated and skilled Emergency Medicine Physician (EM) for a permanent, onsite, full-time position in Lehigh Acres, FL. As an Emergency Medicine Physician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality, patient-centered care in a busy emergency department that handles approximately 26,000 patient visits annually. Responsibilities- Deliver prompt and effective emergency medical care to patients presenting with a wide range of acute illnesses and injuries.
- Work collaboratively with a team of physicians and advanced practice providers (APPs) to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Utilize the Epic Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system to accurately document patient assessments, diagnoses, and treatments.
- Manage patient flow efficiently in an emergency department equipped with 11 ED beds.
- Participate in structured shift schedules, including day and night shifts, to maintain continuous coverage and high-quality patient care.
- Provide clinical leadership and support to other healthcare professionals within the emergency department.
- Adhere to best practices, clinical guidelines, and hospital protocols to ensure patient safety and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine by the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM) or the American Osteopathic Board of Emergency Medicine (AOBEM).
- Family Practice (FP) or Internal Medicine (IM) physicians with at least 2 years of recent emergency medicine experience will also be considered.
- Active Florida medical license preferred.
- Strong clinical acumen and the ability to make quick, effective decisions in high-pressure situations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for working with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Comfort with using the Epic EMR or similar electronic documentation systems.
The emergency department in Lehigh Acres, FL, is designed to support clinicians with a collaborative work environment and modern healthcare technology. Physicians work structured 12-hour shifts, with APP coverage offered throughout the week for consistent support.
