Emergency Medicine Physician (EM) Position OverviewOptigy is seeking a dedicated Emergency Medicine Physician (EM) for a full-time, permanent position in Riverdale, Georgia. This is an onsite role within a high-volume emergency department that manages care for over 46,000 patients annually. The department features 46 emergency beds and is supported by a collaborative team, including advanced practice providers (APPs), ensuring comprehensive patient care and a team-oriented working environment.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver high-quality emergency medical care to a diverse patient population presenting with a wide range of acute and urgent medical conditions.
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of physicians, APPs, nurses, and support staff to provide patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment.
- Utilize the Epic electronic medical record (EMR) system for accurate and efficient documentation of patient encounters.
- Participate in various shift schedules, including day, evening, and overnight shifts, to ensure 24/7 coverage and optimal patient flow.
- Supervise and support APPs as needed, contributing to ongoing clinical education and ensuring quality standards are met.
- Maintain compliance with all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines relevant to emergency medicine practice.
- Engage in continuous professional development and quality improvement initiatives that enhance patient outcomes and departmental efficiency.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine through the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM) or the American Osteopathic Board of Emergency Medicine (AOBEM).
- Minimum of two years of recent experience practicing emergency medicine in a clinical setting.
- Active Georgia medical license preferred.
- Demonstrated commitment to providing compassionate, evidence-based care in a high-acuity environment.
- Proficiency in using EMR systems, with experience in Epic preferred.
- Full-time, permanent onsite position.
- A variety of physician and APP shift schedules are available, including morning, afternoon, evening, and overnight options, supporting flexible work-life balance.
