Electrical Engineer Position Overview
The Electrical Engineer plays a vital role in the design, development, and testing of advanced pressure and temperature sensor products. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity for professionals passionate about engineering innovation, particularly in the area of sensor technology. Products worked on include pressure transducers and transmitters utilizing silicone piezoresistive MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems), Thin Film, Capacitive, and Silicon-on-Insulator (SOI) sensors for pressure applications, as well as wire-wound RTDs (Resistance Thermal Detectors) for temperature sensing. The Electrical Engineer will work closely with project engineers and engineering managers to deliver high-quality solutions that meet customer needs and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform sensor design, development, and testing functions under the supervision of engineering leadership on a range of projects related to pressure and temperature sensor products.
- Collaborate with project engineers and engineering managers to define, conceptualize, and develop designs that align with specific customer requirements and technical specifications.
- Review customer specifications thoroughly and assist in the preparation of technical proposals for new sensor applications, ensuring that all requirements are addressed effectively.
- Analyze, interpret, and apply both military and commercial specifications to ensure products achieve required performance and quality standards.
- Conduct sensor testing using a diverse array of pressure, temperature, and electronic equipment to validate product functionality and reliability.
- Perform calibration and temperature compensation of pressure sensors to achieve precise and consistent measurement outputs.
- Engage in hands-on prototyping and experimental testing of new designs, verifying operational performance and identifying areas for improvement.
- Propose technical solutions to engineering challenges, prepare comprehensive engineering reports, maintain detailed engineering data, and participate actively in team meetings and technical reviews.
- Interface with external hardware and software resources as needed to support product development and integration efforts.
- Work collaboratively with manufacturing engineers to ensure that sensor products meet design requirements and can be efficiently tested and produced during manufacturing processes.
- Carry out digital and analog design analysis, generate schematic diagrams, create assembly drawings and parts lists, and develop system-level interconnection drawings and wiring diagrams for new and existing sensor products.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience working with programmable analog sensor signal conditioners is highly desirable and will be considered a strong asset for this Electrical Engineer role.
- Familiarity with testing environments and platforms such as LabVIEW software or Python programming language is a plus and will contribute to effective sensor testing and automation.
