Director of Operations Job OverviewThe Director of Operations plays a pivotal role in overseeing the daily operations and overall success of a quick-service, high-volume restaurant brand. This full-time leadership position is designed for experienced professionals who excel in managing multiple restaurant units, optimizing operational processes, and building high-performing teams. The Director of Operations is responsible for ensuring that each location consistently delivers a superior guest experience while upholding the company's standards for speed, quality, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee day-to-day operations across multiple fast-paced, high-volume locations, ensuring that all brand standards and operational procedures are met or exceeded.
- Lead, train, and develop general managers and high-potential team members to cultivate a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Conduct regular audits and operational assessments to identify opportunities for enhancement, address performance gaps, and implement best practices to elevate operational results.
- Support the successful launch of new restaurant openings, pop-up activations, and special brand events by providing hands-on leadership and operational expertise.
- Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with licensees and local teams, offering guidance and support to ensure consistent operational performance across all units.
- Analyze key financial data, including labor, food cost, and overall profitability, to drive results and make informed decisions that positively impact the business.
- Travel up to 80% of the time, providing direct, on-site leadership and support across different locations, both locally and nationally.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a multi-unit or senior-level leadership role within quick-service restaurants (QSR) or fast-casual environments.
- Demonstrated track record of success in high-volume, quick-service operations.
- Strong leadership abilities, including experience in people development, team training, and performance management.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a collaborative and hands-on leadership style.
- High adaptability, resilience, and a commitment to leading by example.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively, up to 80% of the time.
