Director of Clinical Quality (RN, LPN) Position OverviewThe Director of Clinical Quality (RN, LPN) is responsible for the oversight and leadership of comprehensive clinical and quality improvement programs for healthcare organizations. This full-time position ensures the highest standards of healthcare delivery by directly managing clinical workflows, optimizing patient wait times, enhancing patient satisfaction, and maintaining clinical competencies. The Director of Clinical Quality (RN, LPN) plays a pivotal role in driving initiatives that uphold compliance with healthcare regulations and foster a culture of continuous quality improvement.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as the Corporate Compliance and HIPAA Officer, ensuring adherence to all relevant regulations and safeguarding patient information.
- Directly supervise the Nursing Director and Quality Improvement/Risk Management departments, providing leadership and support to ensure effective clinical operations.
- Act as the primary contact for oversight of CLIA-waived laboratories, maintaining high standards in laboratory management and compliance.
- Collaborate with clinical staff and the Nursing Director to provide laboratory assistance and support efficient clinical processes.
- Work closely with the Chief Medical Officer/Medical Director and the Quality Committee to coordinate and implement the Quality Improvement (QI) plan.
- Lead the activities of the organization’s Quality Program and manage the monitoring and achievement of clinical measures.
- Train, assist, and monitor staff to maintain optimal clinical workflow throughout all healthcare services.
- Oversee the Quality Department, ensuring that all quality-related initiatives are effectively executed.
- Manage processes involving general liability and risk exposures, including the FTCA redeeming process, for all facilities within the organization.
- Develop and maintain corporate compliance policies and procedures, investigating internal liability claims to reduce potential legal risks.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of clinical and quality programs, utilizing data and outcome measures to drive improvements in healthcare delivery.
- Collaborate with IT, providers, and management to enhance data extraction methods from the EHR system for better decision-making.
- Monitor, report, and provide strategic work plans to improve clinical workflows, patient wait times, patient satisfaction, and clinical competencies.
- Serve as one of the lead directors for HRSA Compliance, ensuring organizational adherence to federal and state healthcare standards.
- Provide assistance through the quality department for managers, clinicians, and practice staff in preparing and assessing quality reports.
- Lead process improvement teams, guiding the development and implementation of process improvement plans using PDSA cycles.
- Work collaboratively with clinical and non-clinical teams to improve key performance indicators across the organization.
- Identify and ensure compliance with applicable licensure and accreditation regulations and standards.
- Direct the process for handling internal and external chart audit requests, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
- Review and prepare annual reports on patient grievances, complaints, and liability, supporting organizational transparency and accountability.
- Bachelor's degree in a health-related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Active RN, LPN, or advanced clinical licensure.
- Certification in Healthcare Quality Management, Risk Management, or Compliance.
- Minimum of four years of experience in a healthcare setting, with at least three years of experience in quality, compliance, nursing, or other clinical practitioner roles.
- Comprehensive knowledge of state and federal compliance regulations and standards governing healthcare organizations.
- Current state RN, LPN, or advanced clinical license, or Registered Records Administrator Certificate as required.
