Desktop Support Technician Job OverviewIDR is seeking a skilled and motivated Desktop Support Technician for a contract-to-hire opportunity with a respected organization in Nashville, TN. As a Desktop Support Technician, you will play an integral role in ensuring seamless technology deployments and providing exceptional technical support to end users. Key Responsibilities- Deploy desktops and laptops to customers, ensuring punctual delivery and strict adherence to scheduled appointments.
- Install new workstations, including configuring hardware, operating systems, and application software, following organizational and departmental standards.
- Utilize Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) to install operating system images and required software on computers.
- Research and develop solutions to resolve complex technical issues, ensuring minimal downtime for end users.
- Document known issues and resolutions to build a robust internal knowledge base for the technical support team.
- Review technical literature, consult with subject matter experts, and coordinate with vendors to identify and implement appropriate hardware and software solutions.
- Effectively communicate with team members and end users to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction throughout the deployment and support process.
- 1-3 years of experience supporting Windows 10 operating systems in a technical environment.
- 1-3 years of hands-on experience configuring and supporting computer hardware and software.
- 1-3 years of experience in a technical customer service role, demonstrating strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Familiarity with ticket tracking systems such as Microsoft SCSM, ServiceNow, or Cherwell for managing and documenting support requests.
- Proven ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team-oriented culture.
