Desktop Support Technician Job DescriptionIDR is seeking a Desktop Support Technician for a contract opportunity with one of our top healthcare clients in Pleasanton, CA. This full-time, two-year contract position provides a chance to join a large, well-established organization and work within a collaborative, team-oriented culture. The Desktop Support Technician will play a key role in supporting daily IT operations and ensuring end users have the technical resources and support necessary to achieve their goals.
Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive support for a Microsoft-based network environment, including troubleshooting and maintaining Windows 10/11 operating systems, Microsoft Office 365, MS Teams, and resolving basic desktop and networking issues.
- Diagnose, manage, and resolve hardware and software problems on desktops, laptops, and tablets, including addressing network communication problems and troubleshooting peripheral devices such as printers and monitors.
- Assist with the full lifecycle of deployment processes, including asset receipt, equipment staging, deployment execution, and updating asset management systems to ensure accurate recordkeeping.
- Perform data transfer and recovery procedures, oversee email administration, and prepare IT assets for disposition in accordance with technical manuals and organizational instructions.
- Demonstrate meticulous attention to detail and adhere strictly to technical guidelines when executing all workstation support tasks.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of two years of professional customer service experience supporting both PC and Macintosh desktop computing hardware in a client-facing role. Experience working with clinical staff and asset inventory is essential.
- Strong knowledge of operating system configuration, hardware setup, and software installation is required.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and complete at least five daily PC refreshes or 25 weekly PC refreshes, ensuring timely and accurate deployment of technology resources.
