Dental Hygienist (RDH) - Summary- Deliver preventive dental care and assessments to patients with a focus on health promotion and disease prevention.
- Collaborate with dental professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory standards and promote safe clinical practices.
- Act as an oral health educator and advocate for patients.
- Contribute to quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives in clinical services.
- Conduct thorough dental hygiene assessments, including reviewing medical and dental histories.
- Perform oral health screenings and periodontal evaluations to identify early signs of oral disease.
- Carry out preventive dental procedures such as prophylaxis (cleanings), scaling, root planing, fluoride applications, and sealant placements.
- Expose, process, and evaluate dental radiographs in accordance with certification and safety protocols.
- Assist in the detection and documentation of oral diseases, reporting findings to the dentist.
- Educate patients on effective oral hygiene techniques and provide individualized preventive care guidance.
- Clearly explain dental procedures and post-treatment instructions to patients.
- Work collaboratively with dentists and team members to support comprehensive treatment planning and follow-up care.
- Assist dentists during patient examinations and clinical procedures as needed.
- Prepare patients and treatment areas to maximize comfort, safety, and operational efficiency.
- Accurately document clinical findings, treatments provided, and patient education in dental records.
- Adhere to federal, state, and local regulations including OSHA, infection control, and HIPAA guidelines.
- Follow protocols for sterilization, instrument processing, and overall clinical safety.
- Maintain current licensure and participate in ongoing professional development and continuing education.
- Support clinic operations by ensuring readiness of equipment, instruments, and supplies.

- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited dental hygiene program (CODA-accredited).
- Active license to practice as a Dental Hygienist (RDH).
- Certified in Radiography.
- Valid AHA/ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Possession of a 10-digit National Provider Identifier (NPI) number.
- Minimum of 1 year of specialized experience following completion of dental hygiene education.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Demonstrates a passion for preventive dental care and patient education.
- Exhibits strong clinical skills in hygiene assessments, periodontal care, and radiography.
