Dental Hygienist (RDH) Position OverviewCommunity Health Programs (CHP) is seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist (RDH) for a full-time opportunity at our Pittsfield Neighborhood Dental Center in Pittsfield, MA. As a vital member of our dental team, the Dental Hygienist (RDH) plays an essential role in delivering high-quality oral health care, education, and preventive services to patients across the community. This position is integral to CHP’s mission of providing accessible and comprehensive dental care, and the Dental Hygienist (RDH) will work closely with dentists and other dental professionals in a collaborative environment dedicated to patient well-being.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough intra-oral and extra-oral screenings for every patient in accordance with established practice protocols and as directed by the supervising dentist.
- Provide professional dental prophylaxis, including cleaning and polishing of teeth, to prevent dental diseases and promote optimal oral health.
- Perform root scaling and planing procedures as part of periodontal disease management, following current best practices and compliance guidelines.
- Deliver comprehensive patient education on oral hygiene practices, disease prevention, and overall dental wellness tailored to patient needs.
- Support and uphold CHP’s mission, vision, and values by delivering compassionate and inclusive care to diverse populations.
- Adhere strictly to all compliance protocols as well as CHP’s policies and procedures to ensure quality and safety in all aspects of patient care.
- Utilize Dentrix and other relevant dental software efficiently for patient records, scheduling, and treatment planning.
- Participate in continuing education meetings and trainings scheduled at the dental center to maintain up-to-date knowledge and skills.
- Graduation from an accredited program with an Associate’s degree in Dental Hygiene.
- Current and valid license to practice as a Dental Hygienist (RDH) in the state of Massachusetts.
- Active and current CPR certification.
- Proficiency in using Dentrix or similar dental practice management software.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and participation in continuing education as required.
